Vietnam evisa - General Information
Vietnam e-Visa is an official electronic visa that was introduced in 2017 to make traveling easier for foreign tourists.
In contrast to a regular visa, in order to obtain an e-Visa for Vietnam, one does not have to visit an embassy or consulate. The application for a Vietnam e-Visa can be completed entirely online.
A traveler should fill out a short online form, upload the documents, cover the visa fees, and download the approved electronic visa to Vietnam from the email.
Vietnam e-Visa serves tourism and business purposes and can be issued as a single- or multiple-entry visa. Both types of visas remain valid and allow their holders to stay in Vietnam for 90 days.

Once your payment is successful, you have to await the result. Most applicants get approval within a week. The confirmed Vietnam e-Visa is delivered as a PDF document via email.

Validity period and permitted stay
An e-Visa for Vietnam is available in two types: a single-entry and a multiple-entry visa. Both types remain effective for 90 days from the date specified on the issued Vietnam e-Visa. A single-entry electronic visa allows one to enter Vietnam once, while a multiple-entry visa permits numerous visits to the country during the validity period.
One visit cannot exceed 90 days. To be able to return to the country, you should leave its territory for a few days and then come back for another 90-day period, provided you have a multiple-entry e-Visa for Vietnam, and it still stays valid.
Requirements
In order to apply for Vietnam visa online, it is mandatory to provide copies of the required documents:
- a passport (valid for at least 6 months from the date of planned entry into Vietnam)
- an applicant’s photo (front-view, in color, with white background)
The copies must be clear and of decent quality. They can be made using a smartphone camera or a web camera.
